Midway, St.Albans

Chantry Architects were asked to look at extending and reordering this period property. Planning restrictions meant that converting the loft was not an option and the orientation of a  neighbouring dwelling meant that care needed to be taken to ensure that the proposed works did not result in a significant loss of light and privacy to this property. The solution was a first floor extension that creates two new bedrooms, with low eaves to reduce the bulk of the new structure and reduce the shading to the neighbouring property. Sunpath analysis and CGI images were produced to support the application and ensure a successful outcome.
